Your lineup already holds lower-carbon options. We find them. You decide what to do next.
Investature offers two tools that measure and a service that gets the plan committee ready to act. None of it requires new money, a new provider, or a new plan structure.

Nobody can act on a number that does not exist
The money in an employer-sponsored retirement plan is invested in companies, and those companies have emissions. Under the GHG Protocol, the employer's share of them is Scope 3, Category 15: financed emissions. Almost no one reports it.
That is because it sits between four job descriptions. The plan committee reviews fees and performance. Sustainability owns the inventory but cannot see inside the fund lineup. HR owns the benefit. Finance signs off on its cost rather than its holdings. The result is an exposure with no owner and no figure attached.
Measurement comes first. Once the organization and each participant have a number, the discussion moves from opinion to evidence.
Two tools
- Intentional Investing Lens for Plans. It gives the plan-level total for Category 15 reporting, plus the carbon intensity of every fund in the menu, so it is clear which options drive the number. It runs on your lineup, and a public preview is available to try today. More on the Intentional Investing Lens for Plans page.
- Intentional Investing Lens. It shows each participant their own footprint in about five minutes, with ranked alternatives in the same fund category showing carbon, three-year return, and fee before and after. It works on a phone or a laptop. More on the Intentional Investing Lens page.
One service
Employer Sponsored Plan Review. The Investature team works with your CFO, head of sustainability, and benefits committee to review the lineup, the allocations, and the lower-carbon options already available in each category, and prepares the committee session with a dashboard, a written review, and a findings memo. Investature provides data, analysis, and documentation; decisions stay with the plan's fiduciaries and their advisers. More on the Employer Sponsored Plan Review page.
One employee at a time, or the whole plan at once
The number opens two routes to action. They run at different speeds, and a plan can run both.
- One employee at a time. Participants use the Intentional Investing Lens and reallocate within the options already on the menu. It needs no committee decision, no lineup change, and no permission, so it can start this week.
- The whole plan at once. The committee reviews the menu itself, starting from the plan's number in the Intentional Investing Lens for Plans and working through Employer Sponsored Plan Review, with the data to see whether each alternative holds up financially. It takes a committee cycle to start, then a single decision moves everyone in a changed fund together.
Neither route requires new capital. The money is already invested; both routes change where it sits rather than how much the organization spends.
How it runs for you
- You send the lineup.
- You get the number, for the plan and for each participant who wants theirs.
- The committee decides what to do with it, with the data in the file.
Investature does not execute any trade or plan change at any step.
What stays the same
Your provider and your plan structure stay the same. The fund options improve, with no capital expense.
What we will not do
We do not assert that every lower-carbon alternative outperforms, because some do not, and the comparisons show fees and returns alongside carbon so both are visible. We do not tell a committee or a participant what to hold: fund selection stays with the plan's fiduciaries and their advisers, and allocation decisions stay with the employee. The measurements are estimates built on reported and modeled emissions data, and carry the limits that data carries today.
Start with the number
Begin with a financed emissions assessment of your plan, run from the fund lineup you already have, with the Intentional Investing Lens ready for participants.
