Your plan committee reviews the lineup. We bring the data and the paperwork.
Employer Sponsored Plan Review is a professional services engagement for employer-sponsored retirement plans. The Investature team works with your CFO, your head of sustainability, and the people who run the benefits plan committee to review the current lineup, how the money is allocated across it, and the lower-carbon options that already exist in each fund category, then prepares the committee session with the documentation it needs.

Why committees ask for it
The money in a retirement plan finances companies, and their emissions count toward the employer's Scope 3 footprint as Category 15, financed emissions. Most committees review fees and performance but have never seen the carbon side of the same menu, or whether a lower-carbon fund in the same category holds up financially. Employer Sponsored Plan Review puts both in front of them, side by side.
What the engagement covers
- The lineup as it stands. Every fund in the menu, its carbon intensity, fees, three-year and longer returns, category fit, fund size, and data coverage, side by side.
- Where the money sits. How participants are actually allocated across the menu, so the committee sees which funds drive the plan's number.
- Options already available. Funds in the same category that carry lower carbon and clear an objective data-coverage screen, shown with the same fees and returns as the funds they would sit beside.
- Possible additions. Categories where the menu has no lower-carbon option today, with the data a committee would need to evaluate one.
- Committee preparation. The documentation, the walkthrough, and the questions a committee and its adviser will ask, assembled before the meeting.
What you receive
- A dashboard of your plan: every fund, the allocations, and the screened alternatives, kept current as data refreshes.
- A written review of the lineup on the factors above.
- A findings memo the committee can put in its file: what was compared, on what basis, and what the data showed.
- Ongoing support for the committee cycle: data refreshes, new comparisons as the menu changes, and preparation for each session.
How it runs
- Start from a plan assessment with the Intentional Investing Lens for Plans, or send the lineup and the allocation data directly.
- We screen each category on objective criteria: same category, lower carbon intensity, minimum data coverage.
- We assemble the comparison, the dashboard, the written review, and the findings memo.
- The committee and its advisers decide. Investature documents what the committee reviewed.
The whole plan at once
Employer Sponsored Plan Review is the route that moves the whole plan: when the committee changes the menu, everyone in a changed fund moves with one decision. The faster route runs one employee at a time, when participants use the Intentional Investing Lens to reallocate within the menu the plan already offers. A plan can run both.
Part of a complete offering
- Intentional Investing Lens for Plans. Measures the plan's Category 15 total and the carbon intensity of every fund, the starting number for a review. See the Intentional Investing Lens for Plans page.
- Intentional Investing Lens. Shows each participant their own footprint and the alternatives in their fund categories. See the Intentional Investing Lens page.
Employer Sponsored Plan Review is priced on its own and is usually bundled with both Intentional Investing Lens tools, so the committee works from the same data participants see. The full picture is on the Solutions page.
What Employer Sponsored Plan Review is, and is not
Investature brings data, analysis, and documentation; it is not a fiduciary or an investment adviser and does not give investment, tax, or legal advice. Every decision about the plan's menu stays with the plan's fiduciaries and their own advisers.
